In building a house, there should be a foundation to be made first. This
foundation or the posts is the base or support of the structure to be able to
stand. It will make the house to be built possible. The foundation should be
strong and not easily destroyed so that it will become a good house and will
last longer. If such foundations are strong, it will last for long years of
existence.
SLCB
like of other institutions and organization has its foundation. The day it was build and started was 45 years
ago. To remember this memorable day of its existence, the school celebrate it
annually. It is usually on the last week of February to the First week of March.
This anniversary remind the students and teachers of the effort of those who
build and made the school as it is today. It emphasizes the hardship of those
who share their guidance in order for SLCB to stand difficulties as years go
by.
“Rediscovering
our Christian faith, reinvigorating our friendship with God” is this year’s
theme for our Foundation Day. This theme tells us to be more intimate to God by
increasing our Christian faith in him and by setting him to be our top priority
before others. Our faith to God, help us to become better person as we grow and
prosper. It will direct us to the right path and live a peaceful life.
On
the first day, it started with a family mass officiated by his Excellency Bishop
Prudencio Andaya,Jr. He conveyed an inspiring message which is truly a touching
one. On the final song, the youth
ministry performed an interpretative dance. After the mass, the friendship game and the Larong Lahi begun and lasted until 5 o’clock
in the afternoon.
The
following day, a parade from the school rounding market to the rotunda of purok
6, back to the school started at 7 o’clock. Then continuation of the ball games
between SLCB instructors and the Kalinga Lion’s Club. It was a heart beating
game for they are all good players. In the afternoon at 3:30 pm, the variety
show begun.
The
last day started at 7 o’clock with the run for faith participated by the
students of the college department and the elementary level. Then after that,
came the field demonstration. The pupils danced first before the college
students. They wear colourful and gorgeous attires that made the audience clapped. Wow! They are interesting to watch and we enjoyed it. That was the
end of SLCB’s birthday.
It
was given two thumbs up by the bishop that made it a successful founding anniversary
for the SLCB family. Hopefully, next year would be better. Congratulations to
all Louisians!
