Our school, Saint Louis College of Bulanao celebrated the 45th
Founding Anniversary last January 31-February 2. on the second day, there was a variety show at
the gym attended by many viewers. Wow!
it was a great show for it included different kind of entertainment that gained the attention of avid
watchers. Such presentation was one of the much awaited part of our school's
birthday.
The show began at 3:30 in the afternoon after
the friendship game was finished. It started with a prayer of course which was
sang by Miss Isic
and Mr. Ojem. They have soft voices and
they sang the song "The Prayer" beautifully. Then Sir Saclag rendered
also another song for the audience about the beginning of life and of earth.
The show continued with dances, singing, etc. that entertained us, viewers. The
show lasted for almost 3 hours but the time didn’t matter as long as we enjoyed
the show very much. On the last part, Mr. Emillio and the AB students presented
an interpretative dance which is so meaningful. It was the best part of the
show for me. It showed the importance of faith in our lives.
This
variety show gave us lessons to reflect on, as the speaker during that time
repeatedly uttered. We should be faithful to God whether generations had past
and new trends and evil acts are continually influencing us. As we can observe,
there are changes that are happening around us in terms of dances, songs,
clothes, and the way we act and behave and so on. Some may lead us to
temptations and wrong doings, but how can we overcome those that can lead us to
harm? The show had answered it. We should strengthen our faith to God. We should
pray and we should not forget where and what we came from. God is the center of
everything we do and the source of everything we have. Therefore, we should
believe, trust, love, glorify, and thank God of all that we can do and we can
get.
Our
own culture and traditions should also be preserved as emphasized during the
show. Even there are new “in” or trends that are continually coming, we should
love and honor/respect our own original culture. We must be proud of it and
continue doing it and be the one to pass it to the next generation.
Go
variety Show! There should be like this again next year. It was great!
